Our previous collection is 14K gold filled. The newer material is a high-tech process that uses stainless steel as a base (hypoallergenic) then vacuum seals 18K gold to the metal. This process allows your product to be worn in the shower without changing colors. 

Since the karat is different from each collection, you may notice the 18K gold products to be slightly darker. This is not a defect of the product. Just the nature of how gold karat products are.
