The Silver Cempasúchil Adjustable Necklace is made out of the highest quality Mexican Sterling Silver. The pendant, is a representation of a petal of the flower of the same name, it passes through the ring to become a necklace and adjusts to any length.
The Cempasúchil (marigold) is a native flower of Mexico and queen of Day of the Dead traditions.
From the Nahuatl word: sempôwalxôchitl which means \'twenty flowers\'
According to an Aztec legend, the Cempasúchil (marigold flower) became the queen of the altars for the Day of the Dead when the sun god turned Xóchitl into a marigold flower to free her from her suffering after losing her beloved Huitzilín.
It was from this legend that the tradition of making Cempasúchil trails arose to guide souls to the offerings at the altars.
