HOT ! Ex-Voto Decorative Hand Candle in Rose

Trudon is the world\'s oldest candlemaker still in business. From the champagne-bucket-inspired glass housing to the gilded plaque on the front, and even the deo regique laborant motto (“[the bees] work for God and the King”), everything about the brand is luxurious. They secured the rights to cast these candles using molds from the French National Museum Council, and only 100 of each are made per year. Once they\'re gone, they\'re gone. This stone hand was found in an archaeological excavation in Syria during the 1850s. Prokla en ex-voto is engraved around the wrist — “for herself or her house, to dedicate” — and was likely intended as an offering to a Syrian deity. (The original is at the Louvre.) While it\'s not scented, and not really meant to be burned, it\'ll look fantastic on the mantle. A really special gift.
