Our signature matcha, Matcha 001, is sourced from a long-standing grower based in Guizhou, China.

This matcha opens with a chlorophyll–rich grassy note that evolves into a vibrant, natural sweetness with a lingering tea umami and centered astringency. This robust taste profile pierces through fatty milks and sweeteners, ensuring your final drink remains distinctly tea-forward.

The Region

Located in southwestern China, Guizhou is a remote and mountainous region that is in many ways similar to Uji, Japan. The region sits 3,600 ft above sea level, resulting in cooler temperatures, misty weather, and high cloud cover.

Grower Background

The specific grower we work with is the oldest matcha producer in the region, having started as a joint project with a Japanese master farmer to replicate Japanese style cultivation.

The Result

This high-altitude growth slows leaf development, concentrating L-theanine for sweetness and creating a sophisticated flavor profile.

Brewing Instructions

• Sift 4g of matcha 


• Add 40ml of hot water (170°F)
  


• Whisk vigorously for 15 seconds 


• Pour on top of 170ml of iced milk
