Discover a truly delightful Ceremonial Grade Matcha that balances heritage, flavor, and value. Sourced from the famous Uji region near Kyoto, this matcha is made by the Osafumi brothers. They are second-generation tea producers who are dedicated to the art of Japanese tea.
The Uji region is steeped in tea tradition and is considered the birthplace of modern Japanese green tea. In fact, it was in Ujitawara that Nagatani Soen made sencha. This changed how tea was grown and made forever. This long connection to tea culture means every sip of Uji matcha holds history in its bright green powder.
This ceremonial grade matcha is designed to please both newcomers and seasoned tea drinkers. Expect a smooth, velvety texture with a balanced profile of gentle bitterness and natural sweetness. Flavor notes include:
Fresh, rich grassy undertones
Hints of snow peas and spring vegetables
A delicate touch of iodine that lingers pleasantly on the palate
The result is a bright, clean finish that reflects both the purity of the leaves and the skill of the artisans who crafted it.
Matcha is not only a sensory experience but also a wellness ritual. Because the whole tea leaf is ground and consumed, matcha provides more antioxidants than steeped green tea. Rich in L-theanine and natural caffeine, it provides calm and focused energy. This makes it a popular choice for meditation, studying, or creative work. Regular consumption supports:
Sustained energy without the crash of coffee
Improved concentration and mental clarity
A natural source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants
Matcha is very versatile. You can enjoy it in the traditional way, whisk it into warm milk for a latte, or blend it into smoothies and baked goods.
Traditional Hot Matcha Latté
In a bowl, mix 1 to 1 ½ teaspoons of matcha powder with 2 ounces of hot water. The water should be hot but not boiling, around 175°F. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and frothy.
Pour the whisked matcha into your teacup.
Add 6–7 oz of warm milk (dairy or plant-based).
Sweeten lightly, if desired.
Classic Usucha (Thin Tea)
Whisk 1 teaspoon matcha with 2–3 oz of hot water until a fine foam forms. Enjoy as is.
Culinary Ideas
Stir into smoothies for a nutrient boost.
Add to pastries, cakes, or ice cream for a vibrant flavor.
Mix into overnight oats or chia pudding for a nourishing breakfast.
For optimal flavor and color, it’s best to use your matcha within six months of opening. Always store in a cool, dry place, away from light and humidity. An airtight container helps preserve its brilliant green hue and delicate aroma.
